Advocate
Marin REALTORS® works on behalf of our membership to ensure an environment exists in local government that promotes home ownership and allows real estate professionals to conduct the business of serving homebuyers and homeowners without burdensome rules, regulations and ordinances. We work in three areas: Policy, Politics and Public Affairs.
Policy
We work with local elected officials and their staff to promote good public policy protecting the way our members do business. Our role with local government also provides the first line of defense from potentially harmful legislation.
Elections
We work to identify and support political candidates who understand and support REALTOR® priorities.
Public Affairs
We work to heighten the presence of REALTORS®, and our priorities, by designing and implementing effective grassroots campaigns throughout our community.
Government Affairs
The advocacy efforts of the Marin REALTORS® are overseen by the volunteer-led Government Affairs Committee. They provide timely and objective advice to the Board of Directors about the advocacy of local government issues and proposed legislation that will impact REALTORS® and Marin communities. The committee also interviews advocates and opponents of local ballot initiatives and then sends recommendations to the trustees of Marin REALTORS®’s Issues Mobilization Political Action Committee, on which measures to support, oppose or abstain from taking positions.
REALTOR® Party Mobile Alerts (RPMA)
REALTOR® Party Mobile Alerts, NAR’s advocacy texting platform, offers REALTOR® Associations and REALTORS® a way to stay connected directly from their cell phone or tablet. When a national or state legislative call for action is launched, subscribers get a short text message, containing information to take action. REALTORS® can sign up for REALTOR® Party Mobile Alerts using the form below or by texting the word REALTORS to 30644.
RPAC & RAF
RPAC (REALTORS® Political Action Committee) and RAF (the REALTOR® Action Fund) work to advance REALTORS® best interests in government. RPAC supports candidates of any party who understand and champion real estate issues. It is the most bipartisan major PAC in the country. REALTOR® Action Fund (RAF) raises money to promote the values, attitudes and beliefs of organized real estate.
